Effects of sudden aortic occlusion on heart rate after sino-aortic denervation.

چکیده
This stud}tests the possibility that pressoreceptors of the sinoaortic type may be located in thoracic vessels and innervated by thoracic afferent nerves. Heart rate and arterial pressure were recorded in anesthetized dogs with neural pathways intact, bilateral vagotomy and sinoaortic denervation before and after internal occlusion of the aorta just above the celiac artery. Results obtained indicate that after elimination of the sinoaortic mechanisms by vagotomy and isolation of the carotid sinuses no functional pressoreceptors of the sinoaortic type can be demonstrated in the arterial tree above the celiac artery.

Blood pressure and heart rate responses to centrally administered substance P are increased in spontaneously hypertensive rats.
1. The cardiovascular effects after intracerebroventricular injections of substance P were investigated in normotensive Wistar-Kyoto and in spontaneously hypertensive rats. 2. Substance P increased blood pressor in both rat strains. Wistar-Kyoto rats responded with moderate, dose-dependent blood pressure increases, and heart rate decreased; spontaneously hypertensive rats showed two- to three-f...

Background & Aim: Intra-aortic ballon pump(IABP) is a mechanical device that has become an accepted treatment modality for patients with severely compromised hemodynamics. The present retrospective study was undertaken to identify the major survival and nonsurvival determinants of patients who were in need of intra-aortic ballon pump support after cardiac surgery. Patients & Methods: Th...
متن کاملHypertension following denervation of aortic baroreceptors in unanesthetized dogs.
After cervical aortic nerve section, mean arterial pressure in the unanesthetized dog increased by an average of 7.4 mm Hg. Following a more extensive denervation of aortic arch receptors by section of intrathoracic vagal branches, arterial pressure increased by 16.7 mm Hg. The above changes were seen in the stable state after the effects of surgery had disappeared. In both cases carotid barore...
متن کاملCommissural NTS lesions and cardiovascular responses in aortic baroreceptor-denervated rats.
Both acute (1 day) lesions of the commissural nucleus of the solitary tract (commNTS) and aortic baroreceptor denervation increase pressor responses to bilateral common carotid occlusion (BCO) during a 60-second period in conscious rats. In this study, we investigated the following: (1) the effects of commNTS lesions on basal mean arterial pressure (MAP) and heart rate (HR) of aortic denervated...
متن کاملAortic Dissection of Unknown Origin in a Young Patient: A Case Report
Aortic dissection occurs when a tear develops in the wall of the aorta, which is rare in the young population. This fatal disorder is hard to diagnose, especially in young patients. We present the case of aortic dissection in a 15-year-old boy referred to the Emergency Department of Yazd University of Medical Sciences in November 2015. The patient presented to our department with sudden acute c...
